this is the first installment in what will hopefully be an ongoing series of experimental albums, released under the name 'anorak.' this particular project was an exercise in self-control; i sought to limit instrumentation to only acoustic guitar and hand percussion, and to not write lyrics in the conventional sense. this particular album is, to me, a musical expression of the ADHD, anxiety, and depression i have struggled with throughout my adolescence. if it feels uncomfortable, chaotic, and self-indulgent, that's intentional - so are all of these conditions. nevertheless, i hope that this album feels cathartic in some way or another. if it doesn't, that's okay, too.

thanks to: asher, for roasting me; bennett, for being a sweet boy; brett, for his generosity; emma, for listening; sam, for listening; seth, for always being willing to indulge me; taran, for bringing ideas; and will, for giving me a chance.

My name is Noah, I'm 17 years-old, and I write songs. I also make experimental music under the name Anorak. Take your coat off, stay awhile. ... more
